Scripture:
He said to them, "You know that it is unlawful for a Jewish man to associate with or befriend a Gentile, or to visit him; yet God has shown me that I am not to call anyone common or [ceremonially] unclean. Acts 10:28 AMP

Throughout his ministry, Jesus made it very clear that God is an all-inclusive God. Jesus went out of his way to help those society had pushed to the fringes, the outcasts, and especially the ceremonially unclean. He changed the protocols men had set up to reject their fellow man. In our scripture for the day, we see how a major shift was made not only in Peter's life but in ours as well. We don't carry the restrictive title of Gentiles again. We're God's children. We don't carry the title of non- Jews; Christ has included us in the commonwealth of Jews and due to that reason, we can partake in the blessings of Abraham. We can even call him our relative. But that's not all the scripture is about. It is showing us how God can change protocols to favour us. It is giving us evidence, an insight of how God can include us in his blessings package, irrespective of where we come from or where we stand in societal circles or who we are. As long as we identify as children of God, we don't need to prove our lineage before qualifying to receive from him. God won't ask for the full details of our background and our story and then reject us, as man does. He is able to turn our story around in a matter of seconds. Just like he did for Cornelius and his household, God can change our stories too. That thing that society has placed a limit on, against us, God can reverse that embargo and place us right in the middle of what we desire. May all protocols and barriers keeping us from accessing what belongs to us, be removed by God's intervention.

Let's pray: Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, change unfavourable protocols to favour me now. Amen
