Scripture:
Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]. Colossians 3:2 AMP

"I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back. The cross before me, the world behind me, no turning back, no turning back". We've all sang this song and I'm sure even now we're singing along, out loud or in our minds. The line we're going to focus on which is in line with our scripture is the "world behind us". Our verse for the day tells us to focus on heavenly things and not on worldly stuff. We should have the world behind us and look towards the cross; Jesus Christ. We're being encouraged to dwell on God and things of the Kingdom because these are permanent. They have more value in contrast to the things on earth that either fade away, get destroyed or stolen. When we focus on God and his Christ, the fickle things around us won't bother us so much. We will see them and not be moved by fear or worry, because we know who our strength is, who our God is and where our supplies are coming from. We know who has got us covered. The song has meaning if we believe and act upon it. Our confessions have meaning if we truly act upon them. Our faith has meaning if we believe and act in it. May the cross of Christ Jesus not be in vain in our lives.

Let's pray: I have decided to follow you Jesus Christ. I am looking at you only to direct and lead me. I confess you as my Lord and Saviour. In your name Jesus Christ I pray. Amen
