Scripture:
I will give you the keys (authority) of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth will have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth will have [already] been loosed in heaven. Mathew 16:19 AMP
How many times have we quoted this scripture without truly knowing the power it invokes and the power we have? Any time we attach understanding to what we're saying and doing, we release more power. Jesus said he will give us the authority of heaven to stop what is unlawful on earth and also to start what is lawful. Do you remember Elijah, who shut heaven for three and a half years? And opened them again at his word? He was operating in the authority of heaven. James assures us that Elijah was flesh and blood just like you and I. The difference is, he knew what was available to him. If you're given a gift voucher, what do you do? You walk into the shop and start picking what you want. No stressing about the prices or cost because on the card, it's all been paid for. In heaven, it's already been paid for and assigned waiting for our word to activate it. Imagine all the unused 'vouchers' we have in heaven gathering dust! When will we start aligning with God's word? When will we start commanding to change our circumstances and the world? The authority of heaven is ours; let's activate it.
Let's pray: Father, give us the wisdom and courage to test your words, to activate them and to glorify you with our testimonies. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen
