Scripture:
Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving. Colossians 4:2 AMP

There's a story about a group of men who were travelling by foot through the Sahara desert. Each night, before sleeping, they would pray thanking God for safety and committing the night and the rest of their journey into his hands. Unknown to the men, a group of bandits had been following them with the intention of robbing and even killing them. One night, the men were too tired, hungry and discouraged to pray. They just slept; and the bandits attacked. Before the thieves robbed them, they asked "why didn't you put up your blue dome tonight"? Blue dome? The bandits told them "there's been a blue dome covering you all this time preventing us from attacking you". The day, the men forgot to pray, their protective dome was down. The day they allowed discouragement to set in and didn't feel up to prayer, their invisible yet powerful force was down. Life is tough, we all get it, but we should never relent in our prayers. As our scripture tells us, it should become a habit, a lifestyle to pray even when everything screams "forget it". In fact, the more we feel like giving up and not praying, that is when we have to force through and pray. We have no idea the impact and reach of our prayers. Our prayers are a spiritual force, a weapon so strong the devil will try anything to get us not to pray. May we continue in prayer without giving up. May we strengthen our dome of protection over ourselves and our families.

Let's pray: Father, give us the strength to carry on. May we not suddenly stop in the midst of our journey. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen
