Scripture:
Show me thy ways, O Lord; and teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Psalm 25:4-5 KJV
Have you ever tried drawing a straight line behind you as you were walking? While you may think you're doing a fantastic job, it's only when you stop to look back that you realize your line looks nothing like what a straight line should be. Often than not, it's the same with life; we may think we're doing a fantastic job of living until we look back and see the many twists and turns our lives have taken. We can easily clean the line we drew in the sand, but we cannot so quickly clean up the wasted years of our lives. But, we have a God who can give us a fresh start if we ask him to walk with us; if we ask him for directions, so we avoid all the unnecessary detours and dead ends. Not only should we ask God for directions but we should also ask him to walk along with us. When we walk alone, even on the right path, we might be tempted to stray. When God walks with us, he will teach us the right ways, we will learn from him. We will know where to pass, what to avoid and when to move forward. We will not be walking anyhow or anywhere because we have a Guide with us who knows the way. Life is a maze and without God, we will be stuck in unpleasant corners.
Let's pray: Lead us, Great Jehovah. Walk with us, talk with us and point out the right paths to follow. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen
