Scripture:
Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST (renewal, blessed quiet) FOR YOUR SOULS. Mathew 11:29 AMP

It looks like we're always engaged with things to do, so many activities that we forget to just be; we forget to live. Even when we're supposed to be resting, our minds are actively engaged, planning, and scheduling. Our weekends are as busy as our weekdays. I have been wondering what would Christ do if he were living in our days? Would he have a calendar filled with appointments, people to see and places to go? Or would he focus on his appointment with God the Father? I'm sure you know the answer to that question. That's why Jesus is calling us to do the same. He's inviting us to rest in him, to move at his pace and follow his plan for us. He doesn't want us caught in a tail spin, doing and doing. He's inviting us to be like him; to check in with the Father if we're in sync. To recalibrate our lives according to God's plan and purpose for us. He's asking us to partner with him in living our lives. He says "learn from me"; what would I do if I were in your shoes? I would stop to rest, I would stop to recalibrate my life by checking in with the Father. When was the last time you recalibrated your life by tuning in to God?

Let's pray: Father, take my life and do something meaningful with it. Calibrate me to be in tune with you. May I walk in step with your will for my life. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen
