Scripture:
The Law and the [writings of the] Prophets were proclaimed until John; since then the gospel of the kingdom of God has been and continues to be preached, and everyone tries forcefully to go into it. Luke 16:16 AMP
The Word of God has been translated into almost every known and spoken language. We have preachers on almost every corner of the streets, talking about God and his kingdom. Forget for a moment, that they're there trying to make money; at least they share from God's word. The point is, God's word is readily available to us than it was in past generations. In the days of the Bible, people had to trek to see the Prophet or Seer to hear a word from God. They had to wait for the synagogues to be open on the Sabbath, before they could hear God's word. The Bible wasn't in print and even when it was, copies were limited. From the days of Jesus, John and the disciples, all that has changed. Now The Word of God comes directly to us through various forms; on social media, radio broadcast, in print and many more formats. We have no excuse being left out, left behind or not making an effort to get in; onto the gospel train. In our times, it's so much easier to access God. Why aren't we? If we don't like the money making or false preachers, why don't we find God ourselves? The Bible is available, his word is near and we don't need an appointment to speak with God. May we not be surrounded by God and yet miss God. May we press in diligently to get into the kingdom of God. May we press in and not be pressed out.
Let’s pray: Father, let your grace which has found us and made us yours, keep us until the coming of Christ. Amen
