Scripture:
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels [in festive gathering]. Hebrews 12:22 AMP

Mount Horeb was the backside of nowhere that God found Moses. He promised Moses that he and the Israelites would be freed and as a sign they would be worshipping at the mountain. Yet it was this same mountain that smoked and quaked and had fire from its summit that everyone including Moses trembled at the sight. They describe it as "a fearful sight"; they couldn't touch it, they couldn't get near it and they couldn't stand the thunderous voice emanating from it. But thanks to Jesus Christ we can come boldly to Mount Zion. We can stand before the throne of grace. We come as children not servants before Mount Zion and speak to God; not as a terrible and quaking sight, but as a Father. At Mount Zion, we come into the company of Saints and angels who are cheering us on. We have encouragement at Zion. In one of the scriptures in Exodus, God told them 'you have gone round this mountain enough, move'. May we move forward from every mountain we seem to be circling without any exit, which causes us fear and stagnation. May we look to Jesus Christ and move from Horeb to Mount Zion. A place of liberation, light, joy and a true relationship with God himself.

Let's pray: Father, we're moving from Horeb to Zion, from religion to relationship. Be our guide, strengthen us and encourage us. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen
