Scripture:
But hope [the object of] which is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he already sees? Romans 8:24b AMP
I tried looking up the meaning of 'hope' and there were so many versions. Deep hope, generalized hope, Biblical hope, faith and hope, believing hope, etc, etc. But what is hope? Hope is an expectation, a positive desire that what we're waiting for will happen. It is expecting our expectations to be met. Not met just by anyone but met through the power of God moving on our behalf. Because of hope, we're positive that something good is going to happen; we are optimistic. The opposite of hope is despair. Imagine living each day despairing of life, expecting only bad things to happen, living in daily gloom and doom. In fact, they will happen because the negative mindset will create a negative atmosphere which will attract all types of evil. That is why we don't have to stop hoping. Not in man, because man disappoints. Our hope should be in God and in the fulfilment and manifestation of his Word. As children of God, our hope is to make heaven. All we're doing here is a dress rehearsal for the face to face encounter with God. And during our dress rehearsal, our hope is to see the manifestation of his words in our lives, and to manifest his power deposited in us. Not to be ordinary Christian's but to exhibit God's grace, power, love and grace to our world.
Let's pray: Father, may we always keep hope alive through your words. Strengthen our faith to stand and to watch. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen
