Scripture:
But as for me, I will look expectantly for the Lord and with confidence in Him I will keep watch; I will wait [with confident expectation] for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. Micah 7:7 AMP
My God will hear me. He will hear my voice in prayer, and he will me as I meditate in prayer. My God will also hear the prayer from my heart when I can't find the words to articulate them. My God will hear me when I whisper or pray aloud. Whichever form my prayer takes, I'm assured my God will hear me. This is the assurance the Prophet Micah is giving us. That the God we're serving is a God who hears, who knows and who answers. Micah shows us how to wait for answers: expectantly. Knowing that the One who has received the prayers will do it for us. We either give up too early or our attitudes while waiting leaves much to be desired. There's a caption which reads "while waiting, serve with joy". That's how our attitudes should be, service with joy to the Kingdom of God. Instead of getting discouraged, impatient and moody, we can be joyfully expectant after all that is what faith is about. It is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction that what we've prayed about will become a reality. We have to do what the Prophet Micah does: wait with confident expectation knowing that God will hear. He who created the ears will He not hear? Our God will hear and answer us favorably.
Let's pray: Answer us favourably Lord, in our times of need and in our times of joy. May every prayer we lift up to you receive immediate divine attention. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen
