Scripture:
Run away from sexual immorality [in any form, whether thought or behavior, whether visual or written]. 1 Corinthians 6:18a AMP

If there was a knock on your door, and on peeping out you saw an armed robber, would you open your door, ever so slightly and go back to bed? Of course not. That small opening is enough access to enter and destroy everything. And that is how the devil operates. If we open the door, no matter how small, he will come in and rob us of our hard earned salvation and our loving relationship with God. Our verse for the day is asking us to be very vigilant, to shun not only the actual act of sexual immorality but also anything that could be an open invitation to the devil to step in. We might not be directly involved in say sexual acts, in adultery or fornication, but what are some of the things we're watching? What are the books or magazines we're reading? What kind of texts are we exchanging? It may feel like being a Christian restricts us from the so-called pleasures of the world. Would you give a loaded gun to your child? Why not? Because you know the consequences will be dire. In much the same way, God knows the effects and consequences of sexual immorality and perversion will affect us and our relationship with him. It will cost us, it will cost God by trivializing the price he paid on the cross; and it will open the door for the armed devil to come in and mess us up. Where do you want to be? Safe or sorry?

Let's pray: Father, may we not slip or fall. Help us to stand and to abide in you all the days of our lives.  We ask and pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
