Scripture:
Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but in Isaac shall thy seed be called. Romans 9:7 KJV
You may be wondering what if any, is the difference between a Christian and a child of God? I've also got a question for you. Is everyone who goes to church a believer? Have we relegated Christianity to a title that differentiates us from other religions, or are we truly Christians? That is the question. Would someone know you were a Christ follower by your way of living, or they wouldn't be able to tell the difference? How do we taste to the world? Can anyone genuinely tell the difference at our work places or among our neighbourhood or we've blended in? Who is then a child of God? Someone who has surrendered his or her life totally to Christ. Someone who lives according to the will of God. Someone who is born of the Spirit and not of flesh. Some people say it's impossible to live totally for Christ because times have changed. A surrendered life would not challenge the Word of God. God's word is One; it doesn't change. What he's said we should be is what we have to be. The Bible says we should be born again; of the Spirit and not of the flesh. Have you been born again? Are you carrying the title or carrying Christ in you?
Let's pray: We don't want to be title holders Father God. Make us into true children. Children who know you, who hear you and obey. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen
