Scripture:
Indeed, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield is produce. Psalm 85:12 AMP

What was your gut reaction when you saw the title of today's devotion? Was it something like which nation? Those scammers in power? I'm not wasting my prayer for this nation? Be honest. And may God have mercy on each of us. No matter how far we go, our nation, will always be home. If we will return, wouldn't it be a good thing to pray for the land we return to? This year in particular, appears to be the year of several national voting; Vote-a-thon. This is our chance as Christians to pray God's will over our nations. There's a story in the Bible about Rehoboam, who succeeded his father Solomon. The elders told him the whole nation had suffered under his father's reign, and they pleaded with him to make things lenient for them. He refused. We may think we're suffering now under the current leadership, but do you know who or what is coming tomorrow? That's why we have to pray. We can't afford to have any one at the helm of affairs. We need people who will think about the land. We need people who have a genuine heart for God and will allow him to guide them. We need God to give us what is good so our land will yield it's produce. It isn't about the political party, it's about the country. Shall we pray for our nations?

Let’s pray: Father, please give us a goodly leader; someone who knows you and seeks you in all his ways. May your blessings for our nation's flow unhindered. May all chaotic happenings be removed from our nations. May the fruits of the land be bountiful. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen
