Worship

Scripture:
The Lord favours those who fear and worship Him [with awe inspired reverence and obedience], those who wait for His mercy and loving kindness. Psalm 147:11 AMP

We often hear about praise and thanksgiving. How God inhabits the praises of his children. How we should learn to praise God each opportunity we have. Worship on the other hand, seems to be on the back burner. And when we talk about worship, we normally relegate it to slow tempo songs. But what is worship and what's the essence of worship? When we worship God, we humble ourselves before his awesome power. We bow our hearts and person to this great God. Worship is when we place God in front and before all else. Worship is when everything we do is for God and about God. Worship is when we acknowledge that God is infinitely superior to us and everything together. Worship is when we raise God up, exalt and deify his Sovereignty. We deify him, we tell him you alone are God. And guess what? When we truly worship him from our hearts and not just giving lip service, he favours us; he singles us out for blessings, he prefers us to anything else. We should be doing more intense and intentional worship if we want to be favoured by God.

Let's pray: Let everything that has breath worship the Lord of Hosts. I will worship and deify you my Lord and God. You are worthy of all worship. Amen
