Scripture:

The Lord said to Abram, after Lot had left him, "Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are standing, northward and southward and eastward and westward; for all the land which you can see I will give to you and your descendants forever. Genesis 13:14-15 AMP

What can you see for 2024? We cried to God to carry us safely over and he has. We literally prayed to see this year and by God's grace, we have. But what do we see for this year? Did we pray for a new year, only to continue with the same old, same old, or we're going to do something different? What do you see? God uses an interesting phrase while talking to Abraham. He says "from the place where you are standing". Meaning from wherever we are currently, irrespective of our location or position, financial means or other limitations we place on ourselves, we have the ability and propensity to see the vastness of the land; to envision something bigger, to dream big and to attain much in this year. In other words, what we see is what we get. The land is before us; the year is ahead of us. Note that the land was right there in front of Abraham. Yet, his focus was on the small bit he and Lot were fighting over. May our focus change to embrace a larger vision. May we see beyond what is limiting us. May we lift our eyes to see a greater plan for this New Year. May we not limit ourselves and belittle God's power by asking for small and dreaming little. May God break through our little thinking and small plans to give us lofty and bigger dreams.

Let’s pray: Yahweh, give me a vision and a plan. Let me see what you see for me this year. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
