Scripture:

Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me. John 15:4 AMP

A branch on it's own, separated from the main tree, soon withers and dies, and is only useful as firewood. That's because on its own, it's unable to tap into the juices and life that the tree provides; it's support system is gone. There are some branches that are cut off and propagated on their own, yet they do not thrive as well because they're not connected to any stem. The stem holds the branch and supplies it with essential nutrients. On it's own, unattached to any stem, there are no roots to hold them in the ground. Every strong wind that blows, blows them over. It takes longer to grow since there's nothing that supports them. While branches on the main tree are blossoming and fruiting, these branches are still trying to grow, struggling for survival. The only way to make it this year, is to stay connected to the source of life and strength. May we stay  connected to this God, who has been tried and tested from generations after generations and is still God. Stay connected to God, if you don't want any wind to blow and scatter your life this year. Stay connected. Just as our scripture says, if we want to have abundance, and be fruitful in all areas of our lives, we need to stay connected to the main vine. If we truly yearn to produce evidence of our faith, we need to remain in the vine. May nothing separate us from God. May we remain securely connected to him.

Let’s pray: Father, reconnect me to you. May I not break away from you. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen
