Prompted by the Spirit, he came into the temple [enclosure]; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him the custom required by the Law, Simeon took Him into his arms, and blessed and praised and thanked God, and said. Luke 2:27 AMP

Someone once said "delayed obedience is disobedience". How many glory moments have we missed because we delayed in doing what we had been prompted to do? How many God-led blessings and opportunities have we missed because we decided to take the time to do things our way? Imagine if Simeon the old man had delayed in following the prompting of the Holy Spirit? He would have died without seeing the promise of Christ. It would have been as if God had lied to him; but his disobedience would have caused it. What if he had said to himself, I'm always at the temple, today I won't go because the Christ never appears? How many times have we missed the answers to our prayers because we have given up midway? Obedience is better than sacrifice and to do what the Holy Spirit prompts us to do, immediately, is the best way to go. It might look foolish to us, but remember that God has taken the so-called wise things of the world, and turned them upside down. He's not going to come with road signs and directions. He's asking us to trust him in all things and to follow him without questioning. The next time, we receive a prompt from the Holy Spirit, may we just follow without hesitation. We might just be saving our own lives or walking into our miracles.

Let's pray: Father, work on my stubborn heart. May I listen and follow closely to what you ask me to do. Give me another chance, another opportunity to hear and to see you. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen
