Scripture:
Let everything that has breath and every breath of life praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Psalm 150:6 AMP
There's a verse from the Methodist Hymnal which says "all creatures of our God and King; lift up your voice and with us sing: Hallelujah. The song then attempts to mention some of creation and how they can use their strength to praise God. I'm not sure why we need encouragement before we sing God's praises. It should be as natural to believers as breathing. That's because we understand and have first hand experience of the many things God does for us on a daily basis. In all honesty, we don't need God to do anything for us before we praise him. He's given that duty to us human beings. Do we want to be like Lucifer who felt there was no need to praise God? Lucifer who decided to praise himself instead of God, for all the things God had made him to be. God gave him beauty and he thought he got it by himself and for himself. God gave him melody and words, and he wanted to use that on himself and for himself. God has given us the power to praise him, will we withhold it from him? Let's join all of creation to praise God. Let all of creation hear us and our hearts in praises to God. May we always live a life that produces praise for God.
Let's praise God: You are God alone. We praise your holy name. We praise you for who you are, what you've done and still doing for us. Our pillar and our rock. The God who has held us steady whilst everything around us shook. Our Defender. Our King of mercy. Our joy. The God who covers our nakedness with your glory. We praise your holy name. Amen
